Press for iPhone Privacy Policy

Press is an iPhone app made by Igor Varyvoda. It makes smaller copies of the photos and videos in your library and helps you remove the ones you no longer need. Everything happens on your iPhone. Press has no account, no server, and no analytics, and the developer cannot see your photos or anything about how you use the app.

Data Press handles

Your photo library. With your permission, Press reads your photos and videos to measure them, find similar photos, and make smaller copies. The copies are saved back into your library. Originals are removed only when you confirm it in the system prompt, and they go to Recently Deleted, where they stay for about 30 days.
iCloud Photos. If a photo or video is stored only in iCloud, Press asks Apple’s Photos framework to download it before compressing it. That download is between your iPhone and Apple, the same as when the Photos app shows the item.
Settings and progress. Your choices (for example, items you chose to keep) and the progress of a compression run are stored in Press’s private app storage on the iPhone. Deleting the app deletes them.
Notifications. If you turn on the weekly reminder, Press schedules a local notification on your iPhone. Nothing is sent through a server.
Purchases. The full version is bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment; Press only receives confirmation from the App Store that the purchase exists.
Tracking, advertising, analytics. None. Press contains no third-party SDKs and makes no network requests of its own.

Your choices

You can change or remove Press’s access to your photos in the iPhone Settings app at any time, under Privacy & Security → Photos. Removing the app removes all data Press stored on the device.
